It all started when I quit racing on a snowboard.

and the movement in the backcountry attracted me more than a park or a halfpipe. At the time, there wasn't much proper splitboarding gear on the market. I tried a few splitboards, but they didn't live up to my expectations. I even switched to skis for a while, and from these actions I came to a conclusion: For my backcountry trips, I needed something that would take me uphill as easily as skis, and at the same time allow me to go "sideways" downhill like a snowboard. Nobody will convince me that going downhill on skis can compete with the feeling of going downhill on a snowboard. At Ispo, a trade show in Germany, I met Will from Spark R&D. Considering that company Spark R&D was able to deliver me their bindings for the same price as it would take me to make them, so I took binding from Spark and they do excelet job.By that a question of a high quality bindings was solved and I was able to redirect my concentration to the splitboard.Now,12Th years later I am deeply back in development of my binding. as I feel that we have to move forward and solve some issues that are still out there. I am now working full time on a new binding called SOLO.

Back then, splitboards were homemade, usually from snowboards cut in half. It may sound a little wild, but at the time we didn't have any other options.

See you out there!
